As a leader in land surveying, excavating, municipal, and locating supplies, we’re proud to say that at MMD, we take our corporate social responsibility seriously. Our culture-focused company aims to make a big positive impact in our community and beyond, always considering the long-term effects of our choices.

As a nationwide company shipping across the USA, and with local pickup options at our warehouse, we understand the importance of sustainability. We’re committed to eco-friendly practices in all aspects of our business, from sourcing materials to reducing waste and emissions in order to minimize our environmental footprint.

We also place a strong emphasis on social responsibility. This includes supporting local organizations and initiatives, nurturing young talent in an inclusive workplace, and promoting fair and ethical business practices. We recognize that our actions have a lasting impact on people and the planet, and we’re committed to being a responsible corporate citizen.

At MMD, we’re all about sustainability (AKA making sure we’re not stressing out the environment any more than we need to). We’ve compiled a list of some of our eco-friendly practices below

Our eco-friendly practices:

We offer recycling of many of the products that we sell (including marking paint cans, hard hats, and safety vests).

We act as a drop site for our sister company, Flat Can Recycling. Our office is equipped with TerraCycle recycling stations for glass, plastic, metal, paper, and snack wrappers.

We’re a plastic bottle-free zone! Instead, our team quenches their thirst with canned beverages and fresh spring water from our amazing Hinckley Springs water cooler.

We only use AnEco trash bags, which are made from 100% compostable materials and decompose into humus, water, and CO₂ within 6-12 months.

We ship all of our orders in cardboard, and seal those boxes with eco-friendly kraft paper tape, which feature adhesive that is activated by water. We reuse or recycle all inventory that comes to us in cardboard boxes.

Our powerful software suite (including QuickBooks Online, Fishbowl Inventory Software, Zippy Kind delivery software, and others) digitizes most of our operations and cuts down on unnecessary paper waste.

Our break area is outfitted with real dishes and utensils (no single-use plastic or disposable plates here).

Our interior and exterior lighting has been upgraded to LED (which is much more energy-efficient than incandescent light bulbs).

90% of our products are manufactured in the USA. That means we’re not adding unnecessary carbon emissions to the atmosphere.
